Our Response Time

 

When you are applying to adopt, please be considerate of our process, and MPM will do our best to communicate with you at an appropriate pace.

MPM is 100% volunteer-run, but we will make every attempt to reply to all emails & applications within 3 to 5 days.

Before You Apply

 

Adopting your new best friend can be a very exciting and emotional process. However, please understand the importance of our adoption process and respect our guidelines.

A dog is not officially yours until:

• Your adoption application has been approved

• An in-person home visit has been completed (not done virtually)

• The adoption contract has been signed​

​

For this reason, we suggest you do not purchase supplies or get anyone (especially children) overly excited until the home visit is completed and the contract is signed.
 

There are many factors that could affect whether the dog you applied for is deemed the right fit for you, your family, and your home.

How Placement Decisions Are Made

​

The decision to place one of our rescue dogs into an adoptive home is not one that we take lightly.

• MPM reserves the right to deny any application. We do not provide reasons for denials. If denied, please review our adoption policies to better understand our requirements.

• MPM does not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Our goal is to find the absolute best fit for both our adoptable dog and the adoptive family. We often receive multiple applications for the same dog.

• We do not disclose information about other potential adopters and will continue accepting applications until the dog has been officially adopted.

• Foster families get the final say on which adoptive family their foster dog will be adopted to.
